Today was a nice slow day.
Got up (way too) early and went to church, and we ended up not having Children's Church (Day off for me). Then we came home had some dinner and crashed.
The Kiddo and I watched half a Veggie Tales DVD and we both fell asleep. It was very nice.
We woke up and went to church again.
For Christmas, because I teach Sunday School and Children's Church, the church gave us gift card to a local restaurant. So, after church this evening J, the Kiddo and I went to TaMolly's and ate.
Now we're home. I'm stuffed and enjoying the sofa and my pajamas.
I apologize if this post doesn't make sense but I feel "Blah" and my thoughts are gelling very well. I'm just relaxed. Goodnight. :)

Percy Jackson The Sea of Monsters (Book Three)
A while ago I mentioned that I'm reading the Percy Jackson books. Well, I've finished the second one.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters
Actually I finished it a while ago but I forgot to blog about it.
I would also give this one about 3.5 stars. It was an interesting read for a young adult book.
I do enjoy the way the author blends the mythical world with the real world. Gods that drink Diet Coke and Centaurs that party to rock and roll and wear Hawaiian shirts. It's just fun.
I'm, once again, on hold at the library for the next book. Popular series right now, I suppose.
So, while I'm waiting I'm working my way through another book that promised excitement and mysterious thrills and so far I'm still forcing my way through it. I'm really hoping it get's better. I'll let you know all about that one when I'm through with it.
(Has anyone read Witch and Wizard by James Patterson? I think I may try to get my hands on that one some time. I've never read any Patterson. Thoughts?)
Three down . . . Twenty-one to go.

This weeks Hot Guy is best know for his part in NCIS. I must admit this is one of my most favorite shows, if not my very favorite.

Blog to Facebook?
When I first started my blog I thought it would be neat to have it post right to my Facebook account when it's published here.
That worked well for a while. But occasionally I think of something that I want to post here and I just can't have that particular nugget pasted all over my Facebook account.
Recently I posted a certain rant and then I had to sit on Facebook and continually refresh the page so that I could delete it when it showed up there. It just wasn't for everyone. (Considering that some facebookers may have been implicated in that particular post.)
So I have made a decision. I have removed the automatic post and the link to my blog that was on Facebook. I have also removed the link to my Twitter account from Facebook.
This blog is no longer connected to Facebook. Now I can write what I want and not have to sit on Facebook and wait to delete it.
I realize this doesn't affect anyone here. You may continue to enjoy (or not enjoy) my blog free of incident. Have a nice day!

Random Tuesday Thoughts!
Welcome to Tuesday! So glad you decided to stop by for some random thoughts! If you like what you see and you want to participate it's easy! Click the awesome little box below and zip on over to Keely's blog! She'll explain it all over there!
1. I finally got to go see Extraordinary Measures last night. It was really good. I enjoyed it a lot. I should have taken a box of tissues with me though. Can't count the tears.
2. After watching the movie last night I must say I am So Very Thankful to have a healthy Kiddo. I came home and snuggled him.
3. I tell the Kiddo that when he's getting dressed the tag goes in the back. He always asks "Where does the flag go?"
4. I introduced my husband to Tim Conway and Harvey Corman in The Dentist skit from the Carol Burnett show. He loved it, and how could you not. Those guys are funny.
5. We own the entire series of Friends on DVD. My Husband likes to put them on at night and watch before bed. I agree that it's nice and light and alot of other things we have on DVD are less ideal for bedtime viewing but I'm getting tired of Friends. We need some more sitcoms on DVD. Any suggestions? What was/is your favorite sitcom?
6. I've decided that Diet Coke tastes better to me than Coke Zero.
7. I found the lost shoe less than an hour after I posted yesterday's blog.
8. I'm ready for a vacation. I'm ready for the income tax refund to come in and I'm ready to fly away home. I just wish it was a permanent thing and not just a visit.
9. Snow Thursday night? Could it really be? I'll believe it when I see it!
Well, that's enough for today I think. Have a great Tuesday everyone!

I Don't Know!
Last night we were just getting ready to walk out the door to go to church. Went through the checklist a few minutes earlier. Socks on. Shoes on. Coat on. Cup in hand.
Kiddo takes one step out the door and goes "Oh! Shoe!" pointing to his shoeless foot.
Somewhere in those few minutes in between the checklist and stepping out the door the shoe came off. One shoe.
Right about now I knew we were going to end up being late.
Me: Where's your shoe?
Kiddo: I don't know.
Me: Well where did it come off?
Kiddo: I don't know.
Me: Well you better find it.
Kiddo: Don't know where it is!
Me: Well we have to find it before we can leave.
Kiddo: Don't know, Mommy.
The conversation continued like this for the next ten minutes while we looked everywhere for the shoe. Finally I gave up and put his black dressy shoes on and left for church. We were fifteen minutes late.
By the way, I still have no idea where the shoe is.

Yellow Bugs
I love the stories that my Kiddo comes up with.
The other day he was playing in his room and he came running out to me yelling "Mommy, Mommy!"
Me: What?!
Kiddo: There are bugs in my room!
Me: Bugs?
Kiddo: Yea, bugs! Yellow bugs!
Me: Yellow bugs?!
Kiddo: Yea! They're carrying away my toys!
Me: They are? Where are they taking them?
Kiddo: To the trash.
Me: There are yellow bugs in your room carrying your toys away and throwing them in the trash?
Kiddo: Yea!
What an imagination!
(My scheduled publisher is not working again. Grrr.)

Not That Big
I've been going to the gym for a little while now. Everyday that it's open, I'm there. (That is everyday that isn't Sunday, or everyday that the gym isn't flooded.)
The Kiddo has asked me a couple times if he could go with me and I keep telling him no. I have told him though that when he gets bigger he can go to the gym.
Well, last night he was laying on the sofa and I came to sit down. I picked up his legs and laid them across my lap and told him how big he was.
I went on to explain to him how he used to be little and he got bigger and bigger and bigger and now he's so big.
My Kid, having the excellent memory that he does said "Yea! Now I can go to the gym!"
Not quite, Kiddo. Give it a few years.

Random Tuesday Thoughts!
It's Tuesday! Anyone feeling random today? If you're feeling random than you should head on over to Keely's blog and post your thoughts. Just click the box below and it will take you right there!
1. That Tide Loads of Hope commercial really grates on me. (Sorry, I don't mean to offend anyone.) That lady says: "You never know how very basic necessities are until you have them." What?! What does that even mean? (This may not be an exact quote but it still makes No sense to me.)
2. UGH!!!! That's all I've got. Just, UGH!!!
3. I made a cake and it's all Cate and Autumn's fault. Okay, well, it's not really their fault but I'm going to blame them anyway. The cake is yummy . . . the pounds are not.
4. Watched Mythbusters last night. I miss Carrie. Is she coming back or is she gone for good?
5. Chris Gorham is awesome. The only celebrity to ever interact with me on Twitter. Not only once but a few times. Very cool.
6. Very excited for the movie Extraordinary Measures to come out on Friday. Harrison Ford is awesome.
7. So, which is better? Mint and Chocolate or Peanut Butter and Chocolate? I don't think I can pick one, they're both delicious!
8. Eighteen followers? Thats almost to twenty! That makes me smile.
This concludes this weeks edition of Random Thoughts. Have a great day!!

Love my Swiffer
Swiffer Wet Jet.
I love my Swiffer! I should do a commercial for them, no joke! It's one of the greatest things ever!
No more messy mops and buckets! Stick the pad on the bottom of the swiffer. Pop the bottle of cleaner on the back of the Swiffer. Push the little button. It sprays cleaner on the floor and then you mop it up with the pad. L O V E It!
I've already bought it as a shower gift for a friend. It is just so awesome. I really do think it would make an excellent gift.
If you don't have one you should get one!
The ONLY ONLY problem I have with it is this: I want washable pads.
The pads they have for it right now are disposable and while that's nice I would prefer to be able to buy a box of washable pads that will last me much longer than the disposable ones.
If there is anyone out there who feels the same way you really should go to the Swiffer Wet Jet website. At the bottom there is a link to customer support. Drop them an e-mail and request washable pads! (For me?)

Drama, Drama, Drama
If you read my Six Word Saturday post yesterday you might have an idea that things have been brewing around here and obviously there are people doing things without thinking.
My head is spinning from all the bad choices flying around here. I Do. Not. Understand. Nor apparently ever will understand the way some people's minds work.
I've been told that "people" can say whatever they want and they can say they would do things a certain way but until they're in that situation they don't know.
This is a true and corect statement. However, I can guarantee (just because I KNOW me so well) that I wouldn't do HALF this stuff!
I'm going nuts! There is Too Much Drama around here and I would really like to move away from it all. At least, it would be nice to take a vacation.
P.S. Please, consider those around you who care for you and USE YOUR FREAKING HEAD!

A Nice Day
Today the Kiddo and I hung out together, alone.
We didn't go anywhere, we just stayed home. Everyone else went to the movies. It was nice.
I cleaned some and the Kiddo watched his movie. Daddy wasn't here to steal the tv. Don't worry we didn't veg in front of the TV all day, it's just that when we were watching it was Kiddo's choice. He liked that.
I made some Taco Soup from a recipe that Cate from over at Show My Face was kind enough to share with me. It's still simmering in the slow cooker but I have tasted it and it's excellent. I'll be enjoying that later.
Right now we're just waiting for everyone to get back from their movies and then I'll hit the gym later on.
I've really been enjoying my trips to the gym. It's nice to get some time away for me and it's a bonus to know that it's doing my body good.
Hope you're all doing well today. See you tomorrow for Six Word Saturday.

HGotW: Alex O'Loughlin
Welcome to Thursday! If it's Thursday then that must (usually) mean it's time for this weeks Hot Guy. If you would like to leave some suggestions for hot guys that you might like to see I'd be happy to check them out!
Anyway, without any further ado I give you . . .
Anyway, without any further ado I give you . . .
Alex O'Loughlin
I discovered this guy when I saw Moonlight on CBS. I was so upset when it was cancelled. I was then excited to hear he was going to be in Three Rivers on CBS. However, that wasn't my favorite show and I guess I'm not the only one that felt that way since it's also been cancelled. He does have a movie coming out with Jennifer Lopez in a little while (Not sure when) called The Back-Up Plan. So, I'm excited for that one.
For the guys I give you:
Elizabeth Hurley
Have a great day!!!

NBC, Are you Kidding?
What is going on over at NBC?
Okay in all honesty, I really don't care. I never watch NBC late night. The only late night show I watch is Craig Ferguson. I'm a devoted fan of Craig so it doesn't really matter to me what happens over there.
However, I find it really unfair to Conan O'Brien that NBC would give him the Tonight Show and then because Jay Leno's new show doesn't work out they would bump him back half an hour.
I think conan has every right to be unhappy and I wish someone would offer him a good position. (Maybe he could take over at American Idol for Simon . . . I'm Just Kidding!) He deserves better than this stuff though.
Another question is, if Conan leaves because they move Leno will Leno get the Tonight show back? Do you think this is Jay's fault? It seems as though people are blaming Jay for this and I don't think it's his fault.
I feel bad for everyone involved in this whole ridiculous situation. I think they should all leave NBC and find better jobs somewhere where they are respected.
My two cents.

Random Tuesday Thoughts!
Happy Tuesday! It's time for Random Tuesday thoughts! If you want to participate, or if you just like to read what others are thinking about, click on the box below and head over to Keely's blog!
1. Leverage comes back tomorrow. I'm so happy, it's been months since it's been on. If you've never seen it check it out on TNT. There will be a marathon of viewers choice episodes starting at noon and going until the new episode at 10 (These times are eastern).
2. I'm excited for the Olympics to start. I love Olympic years. I love the patriotism. I'm also usually ready for them to be over by the end. But still, I just love them.
3. I love Sean Bean. Just love him. If you don't know who he is you really should check out some of his work. He's awesome.
4. The Kiddo went to bed so early last night. I don't like it when that happens. That means he was up so early this morning. I really don't like it when that happens.
5. The gym says that they should be up and running by tomorrow. Thank God! Now all my muscles are going to have to get used to working out again.
6. My Dad sent me an early birthday gift/late Christmas gift. It came in the mail yesterday. A membership to AAA. That is the kind of gift I like. It's practical and useful. Thanks, Dad! It's perfect.
7. I wish J liked breakfast food. I LOVE breakfast food but there's no point in making a bunch when he wont' eat it. I want to make a big "breakfast" for dinner. Breakfast for dinner is awesome. The one thing he did ask me to make was Chocolate Gravy. It's been so long since I made it, I hope I remember how.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Favorite Movies
What is your favorite movie? Can you pick just one? Do you have different favorites for genres?
When someone asks me what my favorite movie is I normally respond The Fugitive. The one with Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.
However, I'm also a big fan of the original Star Wars trilogy. Then there's my "go to" movies. Little Women, Pride and Pejudice and Sense and Sensibility. These are the movies that I watch for background noise or when I just can't decide what I really want to watch.
There are so many other movies that I really like. We have quite a collection but those are my favorites.
What's your favorite movie and why? Maybe, if I haven't seen it, I'll try to check it out.
(P.S. The Cardinals won last night and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Yeah Baby!)

There are so many other movies that I really like. We have quite a collection but those are my favorites.
What's your favorite movie and why? Maybe, if I haven't seen it, I'll try to check it out.
(P.S. The Cardinals won last night and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Yeah Baby!)

No No No
I just realized that I haven't written a blog yet today! That was almost a massive fail. I've been doing so well.
I've been distracted all day by church, and then foot ball and then more football and then a meeting at our church and then what was left of the second round of football.
Alas my team lost today. Oh well, Patriots, there's always next season. And, as I write this the Cardinals are headed into overtime and Green Bay gets the ball.
I apologize for the shortness of this post (at least there's a post) but I can't concentrate.
Meet me here tomorrow, MAYBE it'll be better.

The Tales of Beedle the Bard
While I was waiting for the second book in the Percy Jackson Series I decided to pick up another small book to read.
Since I read The Harry Potter Series and really enjoyed it I had always wanted to read The Tales of Beedle the Bard that J.K. Rowling wrote. So I grabbed it.
It wasn't a novel kind of book. It was more a collection of short stories, fairy tales.
I enjoyed reading them. I guess I would give it 3 stars.
If you've read the Harry Potter Series you'll understand this. It was nice reading the story of the Three Brothers.
Anyway, I'm going to count this toward my books for the year. (I need all the help I can get.)
I'm sorry if this is all messed up and makes no sense. There are a bunch of people here and it's loud. Sorry.

HGotW: Jude Law
I just remembered that I didn't create this post last night and so therefore it wasn't done yet. Well, I'm here now.
I've always thought this weeks HGotW was a hottie but I had kind of forgotten about him. However, I went to see Sherlock Holmes last week and was reminded of this one.

Jude Law
I always save my favorite one for the last. So, that last one is my favorite. (Redundant much?)
Have a great day! Stay warm!
I didn't forget the guys . . .
Charlize Theron
Have a great Thursday!

First Book of the New Year - Percy Jackson
I said that when I finished my books this year I would try to blog about them. Well, I have finished my first book.
Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
I guess I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
The reason I chose to read this book is because in February (on the 12th) the movie version comes out. It's not really a movie that I would normally rush out to see except that Sean Bean is in it. Therefore, I'll be rushing out to see it.
For some movies I like to read the books first. I like to see what the differences are, what was left out, what was kept in.
I did enjoy the book. It was no Harry Potter but it was fun. I don't know if I can pick a favorite character yet. Maybe Annabeth? We'll see when I move on to the second book.
Speaking of the second book, I'm currently waitng on the library to call me and tell me it's been returned. I hope they hurry.

Random Tuesday Thoughts!
Welcome to Tuesday! I hope you're stying warm in the current "deep freeze" we're experiencing. Top over at Keely's blog and join the random fun. Just click the box below.
1. It's 27 degrees here! Wow! (Awesome!) Now if it would only snow . . .
2. Mother-in-Law's dog is here. She's the cutest Dachshund I've ever seen. She's black with brown speckles and she loves me. I don't know what I did to this dog but she absolutely adores me. She's even hopped in bed with me a couple times.
3. Yesterday I started doing research again for my book. I'm still not absolutely set on starting it over but it's fun re-reading some of the things that I had found before. It made the subject come to life for me again. I was almost excited.
4. Ugh! Cell phones!!! Please turn then down when you go to bed. Or wake up when they ring?
5. I am a very light sleeper, unless I'm completely and utterly exhausted. I don't understand how an alarm can be going off right next to someone's head (literally) and it wake me up in the other room and they not even realize it's ringing. Wow!
6. I'm loving going to the gym. It's feels good to be excercising consistently. I also hate it. Definitely a Love/Hate thing.
8. I'm reading Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I want to see the movie (Sean Bean!!!!) and so I thought I would read the book first. It always depresses me though when the movies are so different from the book. So far the books not bad, written for kids but I'm enjoying it.
8. Looks like once again I have very few thoughts. Have a great day everyone!!! Happy Tuesday!!

Read a Book in 2010
I was just reading a blog that I had written on MySpace at this time last year. I had created a goal to read 25 books in 2009.
I'm actually not sure if I managed to meet it or not. Somewhere I stopped keeping track.
This year I have the same goal. Read 25 books in 2010.
My problem with reading books is that unless I'm in the mood to read a particular book I can't usually dedicated enough time to it to get anything read.
So, on that note, any books that I read that may happen to be young adult books (I'm talking books like Twilight or Harry Potter not books like Curious George) will go towards my goal. I usually pick something like that up to fill time while I'm trying to find something else to read.
I'll probably blog about the books I read here. Maybe you'll see something you're interested in.
Right now I'm reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. My reason for reading this book is that I intend to see the movie and like to read the book first.
Yes, I plan to see the Percy Jackson movie. Sean Bean is in it. Sean Being playing a Greek god?!!?! How can I miss that???

Happy New Year!!
Happy New Year!!!
I hope you all had a fun and safe New Years Eve. Did anyone make any resolutions?
I'm not one for making resolutions. They don't seem to stick for anyone else, I kind of figure, Why bother?
This year isn't going to be different. I'm not making any resolutions to do anything special.
I do plan to excercise more but that's because I joined the gym and if I'm paying for it you better believe I'm going to use it and not waste that money.
I should make a resolution to write more. Maybe I'll keep that thought at the back of my mind. Ha, that's probably where it will stay.
Well, enjoy your New Years Day plans and have a safe and wonderful 2010!!!
