The Power of Suggestion

A couple weeks ago I was in Sunday School and one of my girls mentioned that she was going home that afternoon to enjoy Stuffed Peppers (With Seeds, she made sure she emphasized that point.) for dinner.

That did it! That was all I needed to hear. I HAD to have stuffed peppers for dinner. We had talked about them too much and I could almost taste them.

On the way home from church the Kiddo and I stopped at Walmart and I bought some frozen stuffed peppers to bake for dinner. I would have made my own but I was too lazy tired for that. The frozen kind were still really good though. Wonderful stuffed pepper dinner (Although, no seeds).

Last Sunday while in Sunday School the same girl was talking about dinner and I said something about how I wasn't sure what I wanted to have and she said "Enchilada Casserole."

She did it again! I started thinking about Enchilada Casserole and I just HAD to have it. The Kiddo and I came home and found my recipe and then ran to Walmart to grab the couple ingredients I didn't have.

It was so yummy when it was all done.

I wonder what Paige will be having for dinner next Sunday?

Random Tuesday Thoughts!

I've been missing Random Tuesday for a long time. Today I thought I would hop back in. If you want to participate in Random Tuesday or, if you just want to read about it then click the awesomely random box below and pop over to Keely's blog!

randomtuesday

1. It's been so long since I've done Random Tuesday I'm not sure I remember how to be random . . . I think I'm off to a good start.

2. Our cable company was not nice to us. We didn't get the CW Network. I called once and asked about it and the lady had NO IDEA what that Network was, she had never heard of it or any of the shows I mentioned (90201, Smallville, Supernatural, Gossip Girl). Anyway, I e-mailed and asked if they planned to add it because I wanted to watch Supernatural and J likes that silly show Smallville. I guess I wasn't the only one because we received a card in the mail letting us know that by the end of the day on the 30th (TODAY) we would have the CW Network! Yay!

3. Saturday J and I went to Trek Expo in Tulsa and I got to meet Mark Sheppard! *Squee* J met Laura Vandervoort from Smallville and V. We also got to listen to William Shatner and Michael Dorn (among a few others) tell some really great and fun stories. I'm going to try to write a blog post on the event. Mainly so I can remember it later.

4. When did The Kiddo get so big? My baby is growing up. I like him at this age, it's fun but . . . WHERE'S My Baby?!!?

5. I LOVE McDonald's Iced Coffee. It's one of my favorite things in the world. However, I can't go buy one everyday. I do have rent and groceries and bills to pay too. So I started making my own iced coffee at home. It doesn't always taste exactly like McDonald's but it's still delicious and I'm enjoying some right now. Much cheaper. Sometimes, I still grab a McDonald's coffee though.

6. I started messing around with painting a bit. I think I may snap a picture of my favorite one (Already two people with grabby hands for that one. Feel bad to sell it to them though, they are family) and post it in a blog.

7. Alright, I think I'm done here for now. It's been so nice playing Random Tuesday Thoughts again! Have a great day everyone!!

1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . .

Occasionally J's XBox acts up and we have to turn it off, wait and turn it back on.

Sometimes it's while we're trying to watch Netflix. I'll turn it off and count to ten with the Kiddo and then turn it back on.

Well, the other day the controller wasn't working to turn it on so I told the Kiddo to push the button on the actual XBox to turn it on

He walked up to the XBox, looked at it and proceeded to count 1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . all the way to ten before pushing the power button.

I found this funny. I guess he thinks you always have to count to ten before you turn it on.

Who turned out the light?

I was in the shower last night and there was a knock at the locked door. (Locked because I like to be alone while in the shower, call me crazy.)

Kiddo: Mommy! I have to go potty!

So, I hopped out of the shower (dripping as I went), quickly unlocked the door and hopped back in the shower.

The Kiddo then came bursting in and threw the door wide open. This allowed me to reach out of the shower curtain and lock the door. I did this so that when he ran out of the bathroom the door would once again be locked and I could enjoy my shower alone.

When the Kiddo finished he proceeded to run through his normal routine when exiting the bathroom . . . light off, door shut.

Now I'm in the shower, in our bathroom that has no windows, in the PITCH BLACK DARK . . . and the door is locked so I can't call for him to open the door and turn the light back on.

I had to climb out of the shower and make my way to the light switch in the dark, dripping wet.

The joys of being a Mom!

Avocados Anyone?

I received one suggestion yesterday when I asked for subjects to write about. Cate, from Show My Face suggested I write about Avocados.

You know, I have no idea what an Avocado actually tastes like. Not all by itself anyway. I mean, I love Guacamole, that stuff is fantastic. However, I've never just sliced open and Avocado and ate it.

J's cousins do that. They cut the Avocado in half and eat it with a spoon. I can't do it. I have some kind of mental block or something. It just looks as though it would be mushy and ick. It's much more appealing when its mixed with all kind of other things and called Guacamole.

Now that I'm sitting her thinking about it I can't think of anything else that involves Avocado.

Does anyone have any good Avocado recipes?

No News . . .

It says: Last Published May 13, 2010

No!! I miss it around here a lot. I'm having an awful time trying to get back into the blogging groove. Not to mention the lack of subjects to blog about . . . I've got nothing.

If you have any (ANY) suggestions for topics feel free to leave them here. Also if there are any links to web sites that will help me with topics I would love to see those too.

Things around here have been pretty quite. Nothing new going on. I'm not complaining though. No news is good news, right? (Around here, it really is.)

Until next time . . .
