A Walk in the Cemetery.

I thought that on this day before Halloween (I would do it tomorrow but tomorrow is Six Word Saturday and I don't want to miss it) I would take you on a walk with me through my favorite "haunt." Our local cemetery.

Join me, won't you?

I think that this spot right here(below) is the creepiest looking spot in the cemetery right now. I just love how the trees look old and gnarled and the leaves are all over the ground.

As I was walking I came across this tombstone:

Notice anything odd about that stone? Maybe the dates on Mrs. Butler's side? Born 1858, died 19 - Nothing. Did she never die? Is this woman 151 years old? Strange.
I ran across another one like this also.
Born 1871 and never died. Cool.
This stone below is unusual for a reason. I mean, sure it looks old and all. Date of death says May 1907. That's not what's odd about this stone though. It's the location that is strange.
This picture is the view from the stone in the previous picture. See those trees way out there? That's the rest of the cemetery. For some reason this guy was buried Way far away from everyone else. All by himself. Perhaps this was the John Wakefield of our town? (Harper's Island viewers will get that reference.)
Well, thanks for coming with me on my little walk. Feel free to have a seat on the dark and creepy little stone bench and take a breather.
Happy Halloween!!!

National Novel Writing Month

NaNoWriMo?

I've never heard of this before Tuesday. I was surfing around the blogosphere reading some Random Tuesday Thoughts and I came across references to "NaNoWriMo" in a couple posts. Needless to say I was curious so I clicked the link.

Now, I'm hooked. I'm kind of excited about this. November is National Novel Writing Month (Hence NaNoWriMo). NaNoWriMo looks like an awesome way to get the creative juices flowing.

You have from 12 AM on November 1 until 11:59 PM on November 30th to write. Write. Write. Write. Write a 175 page (50,000 word) novel.

It's a great way to get motivated (I think). Also, I think it's really neat to know that there are a ton of other people around the world writing like mad too.

I don't know that I'll finish a 175 page story (actually I'm pretty sure I won't) but I think it'll be fun to try.

This will be my first attempt with NaNoWriMo. Is anyone else interested?

Navy Day

According to Craig Ferguson (The Late Late Show) yesterday was "Navy Day." Now I've never heard of that before but it did make me think.

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all our soldiers, Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force, National Guard, etc. and anyone I might have missed, for all that they've done for our country.

I want to thank those that serve now and those that served in the past. They are our Heroes!

Thanks everyone!

I know this was a short post. But it's important to stop and remember.

1. Finally got the Kiddo's Halloween costume. He's going to be a Pirate and he's so excited about it.

2. I'm looking forward to having some candy around the house. (DANGEROUS!!!) I hardly ever buy it because of the danger factor. I'm sure I'll be happy when it's gone too. Maybe I should hope that people hand out stupid candy this year instead of good candy.

3. Yea you know the stupid candy. Tootsie Rolls and generic hard candy, jawbreakers and that Bubble gum that you can only chew for 3.52 minutes because after that it's lost all it's flavor. (No offense meant towards anyone who likes this candy.) I'm looking for the GOOD candy. The snack/fun size Reese's and Snickers, the Hershey bars and the Kit Kats. Those are the GOOD candy.

4. Will you be handing out candy this year or will you be trekking through town with a little costume clad kiddo in tow? I love taking the Kiddo Trick-or-Treating. It's a blast! Then when we come home he crashes and I have the rest of the night to watch Ghost Hunters (or something else Halloween-ish) and eat candy. Well, I don't eat candy all night.
5. Trick-or-Treat? Yea, let's hope the rain stops! I'm so sick of the rain!
6. Made some delicious pumpkin bread last night. MMmmm. I really don't know why I don't make this stuff every week. It's that good!
Well, I think that's about it. Have a great Random Tuesday everyone!!!

Coconuts

We're learning about the Fruits of the Spirit in Children's Church. Every fruite has a natural fruit to go with it, as an object lesson.

Yesterday we learned about longsuffering (patience). The fruit we used was Coconut. How does the coconut show patience? It takes a long time to wait for the coconut to be ready to harvest, to actually climb up the tree and get it, to crack it open, to scrape out the fruit and finally to eat it. Patience is required.

Anyway, I bought a coconut and we cracked it open (with a hammer, the kids loved that). We poured the milk into cups and everyone got to try it. They all hated it. It was amusing. I did take some coconut flavored candy along too. That they liked, a lot.

We had fun. Oh an remember: Patience is a Virtue!

My Book

Once upon a time I started writing a book. I had done loads of research. There were tons of articles and web pages and such saved on my computer. I was reading all the time and was extremely excited about my project.

Then I took a vacation to Pennsylvania to see my family. When I arrived at home I was greeted with an awful fact. My computer had crashed. All my research, all my saved files, everything that I had written was gone. (Not just the book, everything I'd ever written, ever, was gone.)

Yesterday I started thinking about my book again. (I usually tried not to think of everything that I'd lost.) I would really love to continue my book and finish it. How nice it would be if I had a flawless, photographic memory.

Maybe one day I'll finish (or start over) my book.

Your Choice?

What would you like to read about today? I'm not exactly sure why I'm asking since, chances are, you won't get to read about that particular subject anway. Unless of course you write your own blog about it and then go read that.

In case you can't tell I've got nothing for today. I could tell you about our evening last night. We had a good night. We Did some shopping (I bought a shirt and a cute little ornament for our ornament exchange.). Then we had dinner at CiCi's (lot's of pizza for not that much money. Tasty) and headed home. We watched Harry and the Hendersons, which no one but me had ever seen. Then it was time for bed. *Yawn*

All in all a good evening. Stayed tuned tomorrow for Six Word Saturday. I'm sure it will be more interesting than this!

Facebook Fun

If you're on Facebook and you're looking for some new apps/games you've come to the right place! Today I'm going to tell you about some of my favorite things to do on Facebook.

1. Bejeweled Blitz. I LOVE this game and I'm totally addicted to it. I remember playing Bejeweled a long time ago and I really liked it. Then one day I got on Facebook and my friend had published her score . . . I was practically beside myself with the discovery. Blitz is a shortened version of the regular Bejeweled in that you only have one minute to score as many points as you can. I love it.

2. My Zoo. I had seen people publishing that their zoo was opening exhibits and breeding animals but it took forever before I looked at it. It's a game that doesn't need babysitting and it's a lot of fun. You get to open new exhibits with all kind of different animal varieties. My highlight was when I finally got my Polar Bear. The Panda babies were neat too.

3. Christmas Tree. This is an application that allows you to send gifts of all kinds to your friends. It only allows 20 a day though, that makes me sad. But I'm really enjoying it. You can set it so your friends can open your gift right away or so that they have to til Christmas, mean, I know, but fun!

4. Sorority Life. I'm not sure how I got roped into this one. It was much more engaging in the lower levels. Now I just try to get points to level up so I can get a job and make more money. I still like it though. My only complaint is that for somethings you need a certain number of friends and not all my friends play this game so I hit a wall sometimes.

5. YoVille. I really liked that I could create my avatar. However, what I liked more was the fact that I can decorate my little apartment. I love that part. Unlike My Zoo and Sorority Life, however, this one doesn't earn you money while you sleep. You actually have to work. Go figure!

6. Living Social. I just love the "Pickyour5" game on this site. I think I've exhausted all my picks though. :) It's so much fun! Check it out!

7. I used to play Farm Town a lot too but I've kind of let that one fall by the way. There's just too much.

8 Honorable Mentions. I must also mention Pieces of Flair because that's so much fun. I don't like that they limit the number of flair you can put on your board though. Also Date of the Day is worth looking at. (Although, sometimes I think this one may be broken . . . you should see the people this thing hooks me up with!)

I hope you've enjoyed this little tour of a few applications and games that are available for you entertainment on Facebook! Now, go play!

Flashback Day

I was at a loss as to what to write about today so I decided to go check out some blogs I had written on MySpace ages ago. I found this one from February 6, 2008 and decided I would share it here. It's old news to some but a fun (looking back) story for others.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you "Adventures in Motherhood."

9 PM: Mommy (That's me) makes a GALLON of fruit punch.

Two hours later Daddy goes for a drink. This is his second drink from the
GALLON of punch. He places the GALLON of punch on the kitchen table and is about
to take his cup to the bedroom and get ready for bed.

He kisses Mommy (that's me) good night and Mommy (still me) hears a SPLASH!
You'll never guess what happened!!!!!

We turn around to see the Kiddo standing in the middle of a HUGE pink
puddle that is now covering our ENTIRE dining room floor!

Kiddo, the culprit, who is standing in the middle of a GALLONS worth of
pink liquid that is now covering our floor, starts to walk towards Daddy and
Slip, Slide, Splash he's laying on the dining room floor in the middle of the
HUGE pink puddle.

There is now a Kiddo sized spot that has been mopped up by his freshly
washed pajamas. Yes, the ones that Daddy took OUT of the dryer to put on him
just a short time ago. Mommy saves the day, kisses the "owey" and whisks the
baby off to the bath tub.

Now did anyone catch the part where I said TWO HOURS later? Yes, it's 11 PM
and the Kiddo is getting a bath while Daddy attempts to mop up the
pink puddle.

After the bath Mommy continues to mop, filling the bucket with new water
and pine sol and mopping the dining room and kitchen.

Forty-five minutes after this all started we are finally ready to get the Kiddo and Daddy to bed!

I just love being a Mommy! I know that sometimes it comes with adventures
like this but I sure wouldn't trade what I have for anything!!! God Bless all
you Mommies out there!!!!!

Going back and reading this I have to say. I'm really really grateful for my Swiffer Wet Jet (however, I'm not sure that it would have done much good on the river of punch on the floor.)

1. This is my 100th post! Whoo hoo!

2. I Finally bought my pumpkin on Sunday evening. I carved it yesterday. I also did a little Halloween-ish decorating around here.

3. It's NCIS night. I think that tonight I'll go get a milkshake to sip while I watch.

4. Do you ever just have those time when it just feels like it's extra loud in your house? TV, Kids, Toys, etc. Just everything seems to be making noise at the same time and you feel like you want to scream? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

5. I am on twitter so if you're looking for someone new to follow I'm here. I'll be the first to admit my life isn't that entertaining. I just happen to be addicted to Twitter.

6. There can't be many things, if anything, in this world better than your three year old saying "I love you, Mommy." Just because.

7. This is probably my most pathetic RTT entry yet. Whoo hoo 100 posts. Pathetic.

8. Reading The Lost Symbol, Loving it! I love Dan Brown.
Have a great Tuesday!!

Michael's Visit

On Friday I got a phone call from my cousin Michael. We don't talk super often but we do occasionally have a phone conversation to catch up. When I saw the caller ID on my phone I was expecting another one of those nice catch up phone calls. It ended up being much better than that though.

You see, Michael is in the Army and he called to tell me that he was moving. He had been in Georgia but they decided to send him to Colorado. He told me they gave him seven days to make the journey and asked if we would mind if he stopped by. Of course not!

He let me know that he would most likely be by some time on Saturday. Saturday morning rolled around and I talked to him to find out his location. He was in Louisiana. Great, see ya later.

Later . . . much later . . . no Michael. I wasn't the only one having trouble getting in touch with him. I was in contact with his sister and his Dad and no one was able to get through to him. Thankfully everything was fine. He just a lousy cell provider *Cough*AT&T*Cough* and didn't have service. So he couldn't call us and let us know that he had gotten a tad bit turned around and was going to make it here until Sunday.

Sunday morning J stayed home from church because he wasn't feeling well. I sent Mike a text message to let him know that the Kiddo and I would be at church but J was here to let him in and keep him company.

After church we found out that he pulled in very shortly after we left. I told the Kiddo that we were going to see Michael at our house. The whole way home he talked about Michael. It was cute. When we pulled him Mike was outside, he had just finished a phone call. Well, I got out of the car and gave him a hug and then I got the Kiddo out of the car. He went directly to Michael and gave him a hug. It had been well over a year since the Kiddo had seen Mike. I would be surprised if he remembered him. Anyway, the Kiddo definitely made a friend they had a blast goofing off, playing with the bouncy ball and general guy wrestling stuff.

We had pizza for dinner and then Mike and I went for a nice looong walk (My feet are killing me!) and had a lot of fun just talking and hanging out. We were all sad to see him go (especially the Kiddo who wanted him to stay), but it was nice to have the chance to see each other again.

The Kiddo and Mike.

What will your tombstone say?

As some of you may know I like to take my walks around our local cemetery. It's very quite and peaceful and beautiful there and it's set up perfectly for lots of walking.

Anyway, while I'm walking I sometimes read the dates or the epitaphs on the stones. I saw one once that was kind of disturbing to me. I've only ever seen nice, sweet and thoughtful epitaphs on tombstones until I noticed this one. I don't even like walking by it because it freaks me out. I'm not sure exactly what it means but this is what it says:

"You have wrapped yourself in a great egret silence and have walked into a night
without words."

I don't know about you but I don't think I would want that on my tombstone. I don't plan on walking "into a night without words" when I die. I plan on spending eternity with my Lord. It bugs me when I read this because I can only think of one place that remotely fits the description on this epitaph.

I hope you're ready and if something should happen they can put something on your tombstone that will bring comfort to those that pass by and not the creeps.

"Balloon Boy"

So, yesterday, I refreshed my twitter page like any other normal day and there was a tweet from Ryan Seacrest (Yes, I follow Ryan, so judge me!). This is what it said:

RyanSeacrest: this is terrifying RT @SadaoTurner: Watch live video of
6-yr-old boy trapped in hot air balloon at 7,000ft http://bit.ly/1oyHvL

Naturally I was curious so I clicked on the link. I was greeted with a horrifying video. A six year old was trapped inside a huge hot air balloon type thing and was flying over Colorado at 25 mph. I quickly turned the news on the TV to get the full story.

I watched for quite a while, scared to death, tears in my eyes, thinking about that poor child trapped inside that thing. I was terrified for that kid. I kept thinking about him hitting a tree or a power line or crashing to the ground. I was praying for him to be safe and for someone to figure out a way to get him down.

Not long after the balloon slowed down and pretty gently touched down. After a few minutes it was obvious that no one was inside (Either that or the rescue personnel were REAL idiots).

Now the question was, where was the boy? Did he fall out? Did he never get in? Was he hiding somewhere. No news for a while and then later I was at Walmart and J called me to tell me they found the boy and that he had been hiding in the attic. I was so relived.

Later that night the family was on Larry King Live (Wolf Blitzer was actually filling in for Mr. King). I missed the interview when it aired but was later pointed to a clip of the interview. I watched it and I must say . . . I'm kind of (okay, a Lot) skeptical now as to whether this was genuine or just put on as a publicity stunt.

When the boy was asked why he didn't come out when they were calling for him he responded by saying "You guys said we did this for the show." (referring to his parents.) Um, and what show would that be?? Then, on top of that, what followed was a very odd explanation by what appeared to be a kind of nervous father.

I don't know, judge for yourself. Here's the video if you're interested. The clip is only 2:20 seconds long.

Not on MY Tree!

Tonight is our (Supposed to be, but doesn't always happen that way) monthly ladies get together. We're doing something different this month. Instead of meeting at the church, like we usually do, and everyone bringing snacks we're going to meet at Chili's. Can you say "MMmmm?"

We're also doing an (Uber) early Christmas tree ornament exchange. I think we should have at least waited until next month but oh well. October Christmas Ornament Exchange it is.

I haven't actually purchased an ornament to exchange but I have been looking online and I found some very interesting candidates!

Is this the "Drunken Merman?" I'm kind of confused . . .

Bigfoot! You know, I've been DYING to get a Bigfoot ornament for my Christmas tree . . . (Does anyone believe in him, by the way? Just feeling the water . . .)

Oh. My. Word! This would not find a spot on my Christmas tree, ever! I don't even really know what it is . . . Any ideas?

She looks like she may be distantly related to the guy above her. Is this for a Christmas tree or a Halloween tree??

Ummm . . . I . . . I just . . . I just don't know.

This one looks like it came directly from Stephen King's Christmas tree. Odd . . . to say the least.

.
.
.
.
.
Honestly though, I think this next one is the absolute winner . . .
.
.
.
.
It's worth the wait, trust me.
.
.
.
.

What? Doesn't everyone hang blind, shrunken heads with very obvious cranial trauma on their trees???

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere

Our gas station (yes, you read that right) Finally got their Pumpkin Spice Cappuccino in! I'm so happy! It may not be Starbucks but it'll do for me!

Yesterday I spent some time reading some Random Tuesday Thoughts (Courtesy of
Keely over at The Un Mom) and one thing I discovered is that there is a lot of pumpkin stuff going on.

Whether it's people going to pumpkin patches (of which we have NONE) or crafting pumpkiny things or baking pumpkiny things, there's just a lot.

Now all I want to do is go to a pumpkin patch (Did I mention we have NONE of these????) and make some kind of pumpkiny crafts.

I most Definitely plan to make some pumpkin muffins and maybe some more pumpkin pancakes. I'm also without a doubt planning on heading to our local ice cream stop and ordering a LARGE Pumpkin milk shake. Ohhh, I can practically taste it now.

I'm a sucker for pretty much anything pumpkin. Oh, speaking of I think I'll be getting a pumpkin to carve sometime between Saturday and Tuesday (it probably won't take me til Tuesday).

P.S. Did you keep track of how many times I said "Pumpkin" or "Pumpkiny" in this post? No? Me neither!

1. I HATE not having a Dunkin' Donuts around here! They should get rid of the commercials for them in this area since we don't have any. It's like torture!

2. This guy is so unintelligent I don't even have words . . .

3. This Thursday night the ladies from our church are getting together at Chili's to have dinner and to do and Ornament Exchange. Sounds like fun. However, I think it's a bit early. Seems like we should at least wait til next month. Oh well. Now, do I dress Christmassy???

4. McDonald's often has special milk shake flavors for the different seasons/holidays. Shamrock, pumpkin, egg nog. I love the Shamrock. Actually I love them all. My question, however, is this. Why don't they do the same thing with their iced coffee? I would love to have some pumpkin iced coffee right now.

5. My Kiddo has been on a Gilligan's Island kick lately. Any of you have a three year old who watches TV shows from the 60's?

6. Has anyone ever been to Portland, Oregon? Anything interesting to do there? (Or maybe things to avoid?) I'll take any suggestions I can get. Thanks!

7. Went to see Couples Retreat this past weekend. I really liked it. The more I see Vince Vaughn the more I like him.

Happy Tuesday!!!

Pumpkins

It's October 12th. When do you think we should get our pumpkin to carve? I'm dying to get one now.

This way the weather has been recently just makes me want to go out and light our pumpkin . . . but we don't have one yet.

I think that I'll probably grab one the next time J gets paid. Yup, sounds like a plan.

I hate scooping out the "guts" but I love the rest of the experience. It's so much fun to carve it all out and then light it up. The Kiddo loves it!

Ladies and gentlemen, this (pathetic) post had been brought to you by the 50-ish degree weather that has been occurring recently. Here's to hoping it continues!!!

What to my wandering eyes did appear?

I've been waiting all day for inspiration to strike so that I would have something wonderful to share with everyone. So far nothings happening . . .

I want to thank everyone for their suggestions regarding good books. Cate suggested a book called The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I looked it up and it sounded rather interesting so I decided to go to the library and pick it up.

Friday I finally had the chance to go. I walked in, went right to the book, grabbed it and headed to the circulation desk. I was waiting for the lady to help me and I turned around to look at the shelf with the new arrivals, just to see if anything caught my eye. What an understatement! Guess what I saw? There, staring me in the face was The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown!

I've been waiting forever to read this book! I bounded? . . . sprinted? . . . cartwheeled? . . . over to the shelf and snatched the book up as quick as I could, just in case someone else had their eye on it!

I'm finally reading The Lost Symbol and so far it's very good, but honestly, I expected nothing less. Dan Brown is a superb, fantastic author.

Yay!

Pie in the Eye - Part 2

Last night was the last night of Kid's Crusade. Pie in the Eye night. I have to admit I was a bit worried. Honestly though it was only a bit because I was pretty confidant in the girls.

I tried to get some good pictures but it was really dark outside where they did the pies and my flash didn't travel that far.

Anyway, this is our Pastor putting a pie in her brother's face. (It was either him or me and I much preferred it to be him!)

This is the after effects of the Pie in the Eye. This is one of the guys that came to help with the Crusade and his wife. She was the lucky one that got to hit him with the pie.

All in all we had a really good time at the Crusade . . . and now I get to stay in tonight and I don't have to go anywhere. *Insert long contented sigh here.*

Pie in the Eye

Well, tonight is the night.

If you read my Random Tuesday Thoughts this week you will know that I have been volunteered to take a "Pie in the Eye" for our Kids Crusade at church.

Monday night the boys won. Tuesday night (which I missed due to J's crazy work hours) the girls won. Wednesday night the girls blew the boys away! Only tonight is left. I refuse to let myself get comfortable with the girls win last night. I'm afraid the boys are really going to step it up tonight and then I'll be in trouble!

I would rather not receive a "pie in the eye" tonight buy I'm sure either way, whether its myself or Caleb (Let's all hope it's Caleb), the kids will love every minute of it.

Once again, please continue to send your prayer's, happy thoughts and checks to the girls at our Kids Crusade! Thanks so much!!

Rainy and Cold

It's another rainy day today. It's been raining for about three days now. I don't really mind but it would be nice to be able to straighten my hair again.

I know today's post is late and if you're here looking for brilliance I would suggest you look elsewhere because it doesn't look like there's going to be any here today.

You know, I can handle all the rain because it's so nice and cool outside. Almost cold actually. It's wonderful. Sweatshirt weather makes me smile! Next thing I'm looking forward too is the sound of the heat kicking on and the lovely whoosh of warm air!

I LOVE this time of year!!!!!

Random Tuesday Thoughts!

Are you feeling random today? There's a good explanation for that, it's Tuesday! Join us over at Keely's blog for some Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

1. Does anyone watch NCIS: LA? I'm a big fan of NCIS so I decided to watch . . . I keep telling myself, Just one more episode, it'll get better. Did you catch it last week? There was a fight scene between LL Cool J (He's a cutie, btw.) and some other guy. It was awful. Slow and choppy and LL got half clobbered. I looked at J and said "Eliot would have put him on the ground!" (If you don't know who Eliot is you really should watch Leverage on Wednesday nights on TNT. It's a really great show. Oh, and Eliot is awesome!)

2. If you're going to tell me that that's the way it always was then why don't you make sure that all your employees know that too!! I am SO TIRED of going somewhere and getting something one way and then the next time I go back I try to get the same thing and they tell me they don't/can't do it that way! Get it together people!

3. I HATE Money . . . Well I would like it more if I had some. Now, our bills get paid and we have cable, internet, netflix, cell phones, text messages and all that so that's nice. It would just be nice to have some leftover afer all the bills are paid. I'm trying to save for a trip to Portland here!

4. "And I would do anything for love, But I won't do that, No I won't do that." - Meatloaf. Okay, I'm confused . . . What won't he do?

5. Kids Crusade this week at church. They're having a girls against the boys contest with the offering totals. A representative adult is picked for the girls and one for the guys and then whichever team loses (boys or girls) gets to put a pie in the face of the the opposite teams representative. Who do you think got drafted/volunteered to be the girls representative???? That's right, that would be me. How do I get talked into this stuff?? Please send your prayers/Thoughts/Well wishes and most of all CHECKS to the girls this week!

6. Will Brett Favre play football until he's seventy years old?

Have a great Random Tuesday!!!

Distracted

I'm sitting here staring at this wondering what to write but I am officially distracted by the OU/Miami game.

Do you watch football? I hated it when I was younger, then I tolerated it, then I decided if everyone around me was going to go nuts why not join them? You know what I discovered? I love football!

I updated my Facebook status a couple weeks ago and said something like "Sitting here watching Penn State, waiting for the Kiddo to fall asleep so I can grab a shower."

To this my Mom replied and asked where J was and why I couldn't just let him watch the Kiddo and get my shower because she just knew that I wasn't sitting here watching football alone.

It was funny to me. I told her J was at work and I was, in fact, watching football all on my own. I've done this a lot so far this season. It's a bunch of fun. Football I mean, it's obviously more fun to watch with someone else.

Now If only we had the cash to go to a game . . . *Dreaming*

(P.S. Sorry if this seems out of order. This was meant for yesterday but yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I wanted to make sure I wished her a happy one. So, this post was bumped to today. Thanks for reading!)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I saw a tweet on Twitter yesterday which sent me on a search and this is what I found:

(Taken from NESN.Com September 30, 2009. Written by Michael Hurley)

NFL Players Wearing Pink Gear for Breast Cancer Awareness
Week 4 of the NFL season will feature all the hard hits of a
typical football weekend, but it will also feature a touch of pink.

That's because the league, a strong
supporter of the fight against breast cancer, is allowing players to wear pink
gear in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The New York Times writes that
players will be sporting pink cleats, gloves, sweatbands and towels.
The idea for the
pink spikes came from Carolina's DeAngelo Williams, whose mother was diagnosed
with breast cancer in 2004. Her three sisters died from the
disease.

I just thought I would share. I thought this was absolutely awesome!

A Nice Place to Walk

I am not strange (No more than anybody else). I don't really think it's that odd that I like to walk around Cemeteries.

I'm so excited that it's finally cool enough to go for walks. For the past couple evenings I've had the opportunity to go out for a little while and walk.

My favorite spot to walk is the cemetery that's about three minutes from my place. It's big and set up very nicely. There are trees but not too many trees, it's just nice. Depending on the time of day there could be quite a few other people taking advantage of the ideal location for walking. See, I'm not the only one.

Some pics from my favorite walking spot:
