Random Tuesday Thoughts
1. Today is Kid's birthday. He is five years old today. That's a whole hand! That's a big deal!
2. Our McDonald's is money hungry or something. Every other McD's has Small, Medium and Large iced coffee's. Our McD's has Medium, Large and Extra Large. However, the XLarge at our McD's is the same as a large at any other McD's. Strange.
3. I ordered an extra large iced coffee this morning. At the window I was handed a "medium" (Which, at any other McD's would be a small), umm. I said, "Did I not order an extra large?" She told me that the other lady only put medium on the display. However, she traded it out for an extra large. Extra large for the price of medium. Nice.
4. I planned to put a Sean Bean (because I love him) movie in my DVD player today while I do laundry and party prep. However, Syfy had other plans. There is a Destination Truth marathon on today. LOVE this show. Josh Gates make me happy. :)
5. Taking Kid to school today I saw a man at a stop sign. He was in a very nice black car and wearing a suit. You don't see a lot of guys in suits around here. There's just not a lot of jobs that require suits. I miss seeing guy (and girls) in suits. When I lived in Pennsylvania there were suits everywhere. Where, oh where, is civilization?
6. Lion King 3D tonight? Maybe. It's possible we'll try to go this afternoon for Kid's birthday. Since his party is Saturday we wanted to try to make this day a little special and not just like another day.
7. I made cupcakes last night for Kid to share with his class for his Birthday. There were Very happy kids when I walked into that classroom this morning.
8. On that note I'm going to gain so much weight. Cupcakes, Birthday cake, birthday party food. Around here the "Holiday" season starts with Kid's birthday. Kid's Birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
9. Party on Saturday, then guess what? I can start the Autumn/Halloween decorating! SO Excited!
I think that's enough for now. I don't want to bore you any longer. Have great Random Tuesday!!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere
Yesterday I spent some time reading some Random Tuesday Thoughts (Courtesy of
Keely over at The Un Mom) and one thing I discovered is that there is a lot of pumpkin stuff going on.
Whether it's people going to pumpkin patches (of which we have NONE) or crafting pumpkiny things or baking pumpkiny things, there's just a lot.
Now all I want to do is go to a pumpkin patch (Did I mention we have NONE of these????) and make some kind of pumpkiny crafts.
I most Definitely plan to make some pumpkin muffins and maybe some more pumpkin pancakes. I'm also without a doubt planning on heading to our local ice cream stop and ordering a LARGE Pumpkin milk shake. Ohhh, I can practically taste it now.
I'm a sucker for pretty much anything pumpkin. Oh, speaking of I think I'll be getting a pumpkin to carve sometime between Saturday and Tuesday (it probably won't take me til Tuesday).
P.S. Did you keep track of how many times I said "Pumpkin" or "Pumpkiny" in this post? No? Me neither!

Pumpkins
This way the weather has been recently just makes me want to go out and light our pumpkin . . . but we don't have one yet.
I think that I'll probably grab one the next time J gets paid. Yup, sounds like a plan.
I hate scooping out the "guts" but I love the rest of the experience. It's so much fun to carve it all out and then light it up. The Kiddo loves it!
Ladies and gentlemen, this (pathetic) post had been brought to you by the 50-ish degree weather that has been occurring recently. Here's to hoping it continues!!!

Rainy and Cold
I know today's post is late and if you're here looking for brilliance I would suggest you look elsewhere because it doesn't look like there's going to be any here today.
You know, I can handle all the rain because it's so nice and cool outside. Almost cold actually. It's wonderful. Sweatshirt weather makes me smile! Next thing I'm looking forward too is the sound of the heat kicking on and the lovely whoosh of warm air!
I LOVE this time of year!!!!!

It's Here!!
A friend of mine mentioned on her Facebook yesterday that she was loving the weather and the fact that she could wear her hoodies.
I commented back that it's been nicer here but still not hoodie weather. I figured about a month . . . or so before I could break out my hoodie.
However, last night J asked me to run to Walmart for him (at 10 PM) being the good wife (or is that a pushover?) that I am I decided to go and get him his precious orange juice. I walked out the door and walked back in to get my HOODIE.
I was so excited that I could wear my sweatshirt! Fall is finally here! (Now if anyone would like to buy me that cute zipper up OU sweatshirt at Walmart, I'll gladly accept! Thanks!)
I hope everyone is enjoying the Fall weather!

Random Tuesday Thoughts!!!
1. Today is the FIRST DAY OF FALL!! I'm so very very excited! I've been waiting MONTHS for this! Happy Fall!!!
2. NCIS starts Tonight!!! (I've been waiting months for this too!) I also plan to give the new NCIS: LA a try and see how it is. I hope it will be good but it's hard thinking of NCIS without the original cast. Also, I'm kind of upset they couldn't come up with a more original title.
3. The Mentalist (Simon Baker, Ahhhh) starts on Thursday. Yay! It looks like it's going to be a good TV week. Anyone have any other suggestions for good shows? Right now I only watch NCIS(Tues.), Leverage (Wed.), Ghost Hunters(Wed.), Destination Truth(Wed.), The Mentalist(Thurs.) and Psych (Fri.). I'm told I should watch Bones so I may give that a try, we'll see. Joseph Finnes is in that new show Flashforward. It's on at the same time as Bones . . . I think Joseph may win this battle.
4. Kiddo got a Click Start Leap Frog system for his birthday. I am so very impressed with how well he's doing with it. Amazing! Very good gift (Well done "Mamaw")! I would recommend this one.
5. The roofers started re-shingling my roof yesterday afternoon. Makes for a lot of Thumps, Bangs and Crashes.
6. I posted a blog about the Pirate Birthday Party that we had for the Kiddo. The only problem was that the pictures ended up blurry so I'm going to quick post two cake pics here. I love making cakes. They're not excellent but they're a lot of fun to do! I would have liked to add more detail but the time kind of got away from me. I was happy with it anyway.
7. Watched the Premiere of House last night and was rather unimpressed. I sure hope the season gets better!
8. I grabbed a bag of Marshmallow Matey's while I was shopping yesterday. I always buy these because we do bargain brand around here. Well, I was walking up the isle and noticed that the same size Lucky Charms was cheaper (by 16 cents) than the Marshmallow Matey's so I grabbed it. You know what I discovered? I like the bargain brand better.
9. I'm doing laundry today. What about you?
10. I still don't have my copy of The Lost Symbol. However, I made the mistake of reading the first page in the store. BAD idea! Now I REALLY want it!

Wal*Mart in the Fall.
I always love going to Wal*Mart (or any store) at this time of year. I head straight for the Fall stuff and just walk the isles nice and slow and check it all out. Then I wish I had more money so I could buy it all. Then I end up leaving kind of happy that Fall is here and kind of depressed that I can't have it all!
So, next time you're in Wal*Mart take a trip to the Fall decorations and just enjoy the season.

It's September!
Just in case you didn't know, I thought I would remind you! It's September! I'm so very very excited. Can you tell?
This means that it's just about time (tomorrow too soon?) to get out some Fallish decorations and make it all pretty around here.
This also means that it's the "Celebration Season" around here. Our Anniversary is this month, My Dad's birthday is this month, Kiddo's birthday is this month, J's birthday is this month, Rina is coming this month (this is not an annual thing By Far, but still cause for GREAT celebration!!) and my Mom's birthday is right at the beginning of October.
Whew! I'm tired (and broke) just thinking about it all. Then after all that it's time for Trick-or-Treat and then Christmas and Christmas parties! Yea! *Sings* It's the MOST WONDERFUL time of the year!!!!!
I wish you a Wonderful Fall season!

Random Tuesday Thoughts
1. I love the chapter in the Bible about Abigail. She was pretty cool, that one. I Samuel 25.
2. I'm SO sick of the "Do you have yellow teeth?" ads that are All Over my Facebook page! Go away! My teeth are fine and I don't need you! Disgusting!
3. I love reading the headlines from those bizarre tabloids (i.e. World News, Sun). They have the craziest stuff. The last one I saw said that they found Noah's Ark in Afghanistan AND . . . wait for it . . . it came with TEN NEW COMMANDMENTS!!!! Uh, huh. Yup!
4. Have I mentioned that I'm so ready for Fall I can almost taste it? I'm looking for Vampire books (Scary ones, not love stories), any suggestions?
5. Mother-in-Law took Sister-in-Law North to College this past weekend (She decided it wasn't for her though. She's very much a stay at home sort of person. I'm not surprised she decided it was FAR too FAR away way up there.). Anyway, On their return trip they stopped in Washington D.C. (Can you say "JEALOUS!?") I have been there before but I wish I could have gone along. I might steal some of her pics to show you . . .
6. Kind of connected to the last one . . . while "up north" Mother-in-Law bought some Lebanon Bologna for us. I absolutely love Lebanon and you can't buy it down here (Dumb!). Just one more thing I miss about living in the north. I can't wait to have some! In a sandwich, by itself, rolled up with cream cheese, the possibilities are endless!
Have a great Tuesday!!

Almost Fall
I just want to go light my Pumpkin Spice candles, bake a pumpkin pie, decorate with leaves, orange lights and pumpkins, check out Halloween costumes and get a good scary (preferably vampire sub-genre) book from the library.
Speaking of the book. Any suggestions? I want scary vampires not angsty, teenage vampires. Not that I didn’t enjoy the Twilight series, I did. I just want something like “Salem’s Lot” (one of my favorite books) or “Midnight Mass.” Something where a vampire can be a vampire.
Also, any suggestions for good pumpkiny fallish recipes? I’m always looking for a good recipe.
Happy (Almost) Fall!!!

Six Word Saturday

Blogging everyday with . . . ticks?
I might give it a shot though. (This will last all of one day.) Here goes.
I’m sitting here trying to come up with something to write about and the only thing I can think about is the stupid fly buzzing at my living room window. BZZZ BZZZ BZZZZ So annoying.
I hate bugs. Noah should have taken a fly swatter to every last one of them on the ark! Especially the Ticks and the Mosquitoes.
I’m really not afraid of much. Snakes don’t bother me. I don’t want them in my house or anything but I’m not afraid of them. Mice are just disgusting! (Along with all forms of rodents. Sorry to all you hamster/gerbil lovers out there.) But I have a very irrational fear of ticks. I am scared to death of the little critters. I’ve been calling it Tickaphobia since I was young.
People make fun of me for it. They’re mean. They don’t understand. I can literally hyperventilate from a stupid, tiny little tick.
They like me too, ticks I mean, which just makes it worse. They find me. I took a walk once with my Dad. A couple miles, that’s all it was and I ended up with THREE ticks on me and he had nothing. This was cause of great amusement for him, of course.
Point: Bugs are evil and I live for the day the weather gets too cold (takes longer here than other places) for them to be everywhere. Autumn, oh, Autumn, where are you?!
