Coupons!

Yesterday my post was crazy long with all the weather stuff. So, I decided to move the shopping stuff to another day.

Sunday I bought a newspaper and clipped coupons. It was a first for me. I figured I would give it a try and see what happens. It couldn't hurt. So, I did!

Because this was my first time "couponing," to be honest, I was a bit nervous. I was going to Walgreens and I'd read some crazy stuff about Walgreens (grouchy people, grouchy machines, confusing coupon policies). However, it all went very smoothly and I can't wait until next week!

I used manufacturer's coupons, Walgreens coupons and register rewards and this is what I got:

When priced normally with no sales this bunch of stuff would be between $17 and $20. I paid $8. I'm pretty happy with that! Oh! I also bough a Diet Coke to drink so that was included too.

It's only a little bunch of stuff but it was my first time and I was happy! Also, combos are yum and the Kiddo finally got the Tic Tac's he's been asking me for for a week!

I stopped at a few more stores but didn't use coupons. I'm trying to ease myself in, one store at a time.

I did get some good deals at Dollar Tree though!

Do you use coupons? Do you find it a hassle or helpful? I really enjoyed my first experience, I'll be doing this again!

I use coupons that you are print online from places like coupons.com. Sometimes I double up coupons at Target (using both a Target coupon and a manufacturers coupon at the same time) but other than that I'm not really into extreme couponing. I don't have the patience.

I coupon religiously. I save tons of $$ every week. I am not an extreme couponer but only buy the deails from week to week. This is how I make my weekly menu plan too by what is on sale. Always buy meat when BOGO. My oldest daughter is coupon queen now and actually does better than me some weeks. Coupons are free money, why not!

I generally find coupons to be a bother...and sometimes they have induced me to buy stuff I totally would not have bought otherwise. I do make some exceptions...especially at Costco, where the dollar amount saved is totally worth the hassle!

What these couponers don't understand is that it's a pain in the butt to be a cashier. Who is the first person the customer goes off on even if whatever the problem is, is in no way the cashiers fault. People who have never worked a retail job should really try and be more considerate to those in the service industry. A little courtesy and respect goes a long way.

I LOVE coupons! The only downfall to them is, one- you usually buy things you dont need, and two- you buy food that isn't healthy for you. Good for you though! You did awesome!
