Sunday Silly - What Did the Chicken Do?

I read this ages ago and you might have seen it too but it not I hope you enjoy it! Actually, even if you have seen it, it is possible to enjoy it again!

A young man received a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a horrible attitude and an even worse vocabulary. Every word out of this bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity.

The young man tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by constantly saying polite words, playing soft music, and doing anything he could think of to set a good example but nothing worked.

Finally, the young man got fed up and he yelled at the parrot and, the bird yelled back. He shook the parrot, and the bird got angrier and ruder. Eventually, in a moment of desperation, the young man put the bird in the refrigerator freezer.

For a few minutes, the young man heard the bird squawking and kicking and screaming . . . then suddenly there was quiet. Not a peep for over a minute. Fearing that he'd hurt the bird, the young man quickly opened the door to the freezer.

The parrot calmly stepped out onto the young man's outstretched arm and said, "I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I am truly sorry, and I will do everything to correct my poor behavior."

The young man was astonished at the bird's change of attitude. As he was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the bird continued, "May I ask what the chicken did?"

Voices

I ran across this a few days ago and thought it would be fun to share. Do with it what you will. ;)

Also . . . Proceed with caution . . . Hehehe

You know that ringing sound that you perceive when you are in a very quiet area? Some people say this is an auditory illusion brought about by the ear's inability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses.
This is completely wrong. That ringing covers up something else altogether.
If you are Patient and maybe a little lucky you will be able to hear past the ringing. What you will hear are voices whispering to each other. They will silence themselves quickly but with practice you will become more adept at catching and interpreting what they are saying.
You will hear things of the past, the present and even the future.
However, you must be careful because there is no such thing as a voice without a body.

And, when you start noticing them, they will start noticing you.

*Insert creepy music here*

Have a nice day!

Summer, How do I Loathe Thee?

Summer, listen up, I hate you. Loathe

I hate the little black beetle bugs.

I hate the mosquitoes.

I hate the flies, big and small.

I hate the HEAT.

I hate the Spiders.

I hate the lack of a/c in my car.

I hate the sky high electric bills.

I hate that I can't fix my hair pretty for church because it's so hot that by the time I get there nothing I did matters anymore.

I hate Summer.

I'm ready for Autumn. Yes, yes, I am!

This ranting post has been brought to you by Summer. Don't worry, I really am usually pretty sweet (the mosquito's think so, anyway) but I'm just tired of this season and I'm ready to move on.

I'm thinking HGotW may be back tomorrow. Have a great day!

Booster Band

We have this thing at our church called Booster Band (I'm really not sure why it's called this).

It's a time during church on Sunday morning when all the Kiddo's get up in front and have fun singing some Kiddo songs. They love it! It's really cute too.

The first song they always sing includes the words "Bring someone with you."

This past Sunday our Pastor had the brilliant idea to ask the Kiddos if they wanted to bring someone. Of course they all said yes so she told them to go get someone to bring with them.

 . . .

Right about that time is when I started hyperventilating. Okay, no, not really but I wasn't very comfortable.

I do NOT do well in front of people. I do even worse when I'm supposed to be singing in front of people. However, I don't think the Kiddo knows or cares about that. And as I sat there and shook (Ok, I wasn't REALLY shaking) I saw the Kiddo come walking up the aisle towards me.

He stopped a row away and started waving me towards him with his hand.

What was going through my head? "I'm going to have to have a conversation with this Pastor of ours. And then of course tell her that we'll be finding another church!"

Alright, I'm just kidding. Also, I didn't have any breakdowns or anything and I lived through it.

But, I never want to do it again!

Random Tuesday Thoughts!!

Happy Random Tuesday! My blog is late today but at least it's here! If you want to play along with Random Tuesday Thoughts then clicky the little box below and join the fun over at Keely's blog!!

randomtuesday

1. Mother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law are here until Wednesday, just visiting. We've been having fun.

2. One day the Kiddo was talking and started using a word. He used it as an adjective. I'm not sure where he heard this word (I don't say it) but he uses it all the time. He's used it for ages. It's just stuck with him. Often when he's being silly he uses this word to describe something. The word? "Doinky" You're welcome.

3. I may be in love with the person who discovered/invented coffee.

4. I want to see Inception!! Now!

5. I think we're going for Chinese food tonight. MMMmmm.

6. Had an awesome dream last night. (Don't tell J. I wasn't married in the dream.) But I met a prince and was going to marry him. He said "We're getting married, Princess." and I smiled like goof. :) Not sure where this dream came from but I may possibly have to turn it into a short story!

7. I really don't have a lot of random today. I think I'll end it here. Have a great day everyone!!! Happy Tuesday!

I LOVE The Internet!

I love my mp3 player. I love plugging it into the cassette (yes I said cassette because our car is from the stone age) adapter and blasting it when I'm alone in my car. I love my cassette adapter.

My cassette adapter broke.

My cassette adapter broke during a THREE HOUR TRIP. Actually at the beginning of the three hour trip!

I couldn't handle it, so we stopped at a Walmart and I grabbed a new one. (well, I paid for it, I didn't just grab it and leave.)

Ran back to the car, plugged it in, plugged in the mp3 player and . . .

Two seconds of Music . . . cassette flips to the other side . . . music for 2 seconds . . . cassette flips to the other side . . . 2 seconds of music . . . cassette flips to the other side. You get the picture?

I was not happy! Waste of money and NO music!

That thing sat in our car for weeks, doing no good. Then, I had a thought! Google!

I googled: "How do I make my mp3 cassette adapter play without auto reversing?" I honestly wasn't expecting much. But then I found this link: How to cure car cassette adapter "auto-reverse flip-flop"

Jackpot!

I followed the very good, very easy instructions and now I have mp3 music in my car again!!

I LOVE the Internet!

Sunday Silly - Speeding

As he sat along the side of the highway, waiting to catch speeding drivers, a Police officer sees a car puttering along at 33 MPH. He says to himself. "This driver is just as dangerous as someone who's speeding."

So, he turned on his lights and pulled the driver over. As he approached the car he noticed that there were five old ladies, two in the front and three in the back. The ladies looked terrified. Everyone one of them were wide eyed and as white as ghosts.

The driver, obviously confused, said to him "Officer, I don't understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?"

"Ma'am," the officer replied, "You weren't speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers."

"Slower than the speed limit? The driver questioned. No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly. Thirty-three Miles an hour!" the old woman said a bit proudly..

The Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle, explained to her that 33 was the highway number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error..

"But before I let you go, Ma'am, I have to ask. Is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven't made a sound this whole time." the officer asked.

"Oh, they'll be all right in a minute officer. We just got off Highway 189."

Snuggles

A couple weeks ago on a Sunday morning the Kiddo and I had to get up early and take J to work so we could have the car to go to church.

We drove J to work and when we came home we crawled back into bed. We didn't have to be up yet, so why not? I let the Kiddo hop in bed with me.

We lay there for a while and I though the Kiddo had fallen asleep until I heard his little voice next to me.

"Mommy?"

I said "What, Baby?"

"Would you snuggle me?"

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

I love my Kiddo! I sure am going to miss it when he stops saying stuff like that.

HGotW: Bradley James

It's Thursday! Do you know what that means?? (Well, it didn't mean the same thing last week since we did this on Friday but still . . . ) That's right! It's time for HGotW!!!!

The guy I've chosen for this week may possibly be the youngest Guy I've featured here. Born in 1983 he's almost 27. I can't remember featuring anyone younger than that.

Anyway, I started watching Merlin (because of Anthony Head) and discovered this weeks Hot Guy. He's adorable. He's a good actor and he does commentary videos for the "Merlin fans" and they are great! He's a very entertaining young man. I hope to see him around much more in the future!

So, I give you a young man to watch . . .

Bradley James
(I'd also like to mention that I thought Misha Collins had the bluest eyes I'd ever seen but this guy blows him out of the water by about a hundred times!)

(As Arthur in Merlin)

(*Sigh*)

(The last two are my favorites. I always save my favorites for last.)

I chose this particular young lady for today because A. I think she's beautiful. B. She's part of the Merlin cast and I thought that would fit nicely and C. Her character and Bradley James' character will end up together some day and I just LOVE them together. They make a beautiful couple.

Today's featured female is . . .

Angel Coulby

(As Gwen/Guinevere in Merlin. SO Pretty.)

And once again, ALL the pretty in ONE picture! (Although I have to take issue with his t-shirt. Dolphins?!)

This concludes this weeks edition of HGotW. (Another of my favorites) I hope to see you back next week. (Well, tomorrow really but no more HG until next week!)

Have a wonderful day!

Rants and Raves

I mentioned in yesterday's Random Tuesday Thoughts blog that I've launched another blog. I thought I would introduce it properly today.

Rants and Raves is a place for me to "geek out" and "fangirl" over my favorite TV shows, Movies, or actors.

When I watch a show I tend to get pretty involved. Then I end up with all these thoughts and often no one to share them with because rarely do I know anyone as involved as I am! Hence my creation.

Now I have a place to go and spill all my thoughts on the latest episode (or the latest episode that I watched on Netflix)!

So, if you're interested in TV you might want to check it out.

Now, I don't watch EVERY show on TV and my taste may differ from yours so it may not be the place for you (but I hope you visit anyway).

Some of the shows that I think will have a spot may include (but are certainly NOT limited to):

NCIS
Supernatural
Bones
Merlin
Leverage
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Psych
The Mentalist

And actually the list goes on but I'm not going to type out every show I've ever had a thought about!

Anyway, stop by if you like! Thanks!

Caramel Cinnamon Rolls

When I was younger my Aunt used to make some amazing little cinnamon rolls. They were so yummy. It had been a long time since I had them so one day I went on an internet search and found the recipe. I've made them ever since. SO GOOD!

They are Mini Caramel Cinnamon Rolls. They're really easy to make and the taste is amazing.

Recipe:
1/4 Cup Firmly Packed Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Margarine
2 Tablespoons Light Corn syrup
1 8 oz. Can of Crescent Dinner Rolls
2 Tablespoons of Sugar
1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon

Heat your oven to 375.

In s small bowl mix the brown sugar, margarine and corn syrup. Spread in the bottom of a round cake pan. (I actually just mix it all up in the cake pan.)

Pop open the crescent rolls and unroll them. Separate them into four rectangles and pinch together the perforations.

In a small bowl combine the cinnamon and sugar. (I Never measure out my cinnamon and sugar because I like a bit more and definitely more cinnamon.)

Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the four rectangle. (You can add some pecans to this too if you want. I never do.)

Start at the short side and roll up the dough. Pinch the edges to seal them. Cut each roll into four pieces and place them in the cake pan.

Bake 20 to 27 minutes or until golden brown.

Cool for a minute or two and invert them onto a platter.

Enjoy! They're good warm or cold!

Sunday Silly - You've Got Male

I received this in an e-mail (a couple times actually). You've probably seen it but if not, check it out. It's cute!

Daddy, how was I born?

A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born ?'

The father answers, "Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other. There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button , nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:

"You've got Male!"

It was too good not to share. Have a great day!
