Random Tuesday Thoughts!

Happy Random Tuesday, Everyone! What does that mean? Well, if you don't know then you need to click the box and find out! Pop over to Keely's blog and get in on the random!

1. You know what's awkward? Following someone on Twitter who follows you, talking to them occasionally and not being sure if they're male or female . . .

2. Speaking of Twitter. Are you on Twitter? Are you a "Team Follow Back" kind of a person? Do you automatically follow the (REAL) people that follow you? Or do people follow you and you leave them hanging out there, following you but not being followed in return. If you don't follow everyone back, do you feel guilty when they talk to you often (and you of course talk to them in return) but you don't follow them? Or is that just me? I already follow too many people. I can't follow everyone back!

3. One of the kids on my Sunday School class was acting up a bit and I told him he had to listen to me or he'd have to go sit with his Grandmother. He said "I'm little." I assumed he meant he was little so he had to stay in my Sunday School class and not go in with the adults. I said "Little?" He said "Yea, I'm little. I haven't learned how to listen yet." Oh really? Child logic cracks me up. I assured him that he was not too little to learn to listen.

4. One thing about Summer coming that makes me happy? The Summer Movie Club House at our movie theatre. A kids movie every Tuesday at ten AM for a buck a person! Yay!

5. Speaking of . . . Is it "Theater" or "Theatre" that is the correct spelling?

6. Temporary Insanity is a ridiculous plea!! I go temporarily insane sometimes too. When I do eat two pieces of cake or I leave the laundry in the washer overnight or I buy that way too expensive item . . . I DON'T KILL PEOPLE!!!

7. If you don't like CNN then Turn it off! If you don't like Fox News then turn it off! Why complain about them all the time?

Messages in the Sand

I love my best friend because she's awesome.

She was in Florida last week vacationing. She wrote an "I love you" note in the sand on the beach for her man and posted it on Facebook.

Naturally my comment said "Awwww . . . Where's mine?"

Not long after that I received a photo on my phone and this photo was posted on Facebook:

See? She's awesome! :) Hehe

Also, I'm TOTALLY jealous that she was at the beach and I wasn't!

Sunday Silly - Traffic Camera

Once again, this was in my e-mail inbox and I'm sharing it with you. :) Enjoy!


I was driving when I saw the flash of a traffic camera. I figured that my picture had been taken for exceeding the limit even though I knew that I was not speeding.


Just to be sure, I went around the block and passed the same spot, driving even more slowly, but again the camera flashed.

Now I began to think that this was quite funny, so I drove even slower as I passed the area once more, but the traffic camera again flashed.

I tried a fourth and fifth time with the same results and was now laughing as the camera flashed while I rolled past at a snail's pace.

Two weeks later, I got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.

You know, you just can't fix stupid.

My Day

Today is Friday.

Today I have an appointment to have my hair cut. That appointment is at 12:30 in the afternoon.

Guess what? I'm totally leaving my house as soon as I'm ready.

A day for me! (And possibly Sister-in-Law, if she decides to join me.)

What will I be doing? I have no idea but I'm going anyway!

Maybe I'll do some shopping. Most likely window shopping but it'll still be fun. I'll go try on clothes at Cato. Check out fun crafty stuff at Hobby Lobby. Get some more "Rock Candy" Bling Hand Sanitizer from Bath and Body Works because that stuff smells SO good!

Then I'll go get my hair cut. If I like the way it looks maybe I'll go to Dollar Tree or the book store before I go home. (I say if I like the way it looks because I often leave a hair place hating the way they style it. I don't mind it when I can do it myself but I never like the way they do it.) Oh, I'll just take my hat! Problem solved!

Just thinking about today is making me happy.

If I like my cut I'll probably share a picture . . . OK, maybe.

HGotW: Ian Somerhalder

I checked . . . The last time I did a HGotW post was in July . . . I think that's long enough to go without a Hot Guy on my blog.

This weeks Hot Guy I didn't even know about in July. I was a member of a social networking site and someone would post his picture over and over and I would think. "Oh wow, He is so HOT." He was in a TV show that I never watched (because I figured it would be silly) but you can only see this guys picture so many times before you have to check out his show.

So, I gave in. One night the show that I normally watched in that time slot was a rerun so I turned on his show and let it play in the background. I was hooked. I immediately found the episodes online and caught up on the whole show. Good thing it was only in it's first season! I'm now a faithful viewer and it's not at all silly as I had suspected.

Also, I fell in love with this week's Hot Guy's character immediately. Sure, he's a bad boy but so what? He is one of my two favorite characters. Guess what? I'm also going to feature the actress that plays my other favorite character as this weeks "Hot Girl."

A Hair Cut. But What Kind?

I did it. I called the hair place. I made an appointment. I'm getting a hair cut.

This is big for me. I don't do change very well. My last cut was last year, August I think. I never know what kind of a cut to get. I'm always worried I'll hate it when it's over.

Do I go shorter? Do I stay longer? Layers? What kind of layers? And this time I add one more question . . . Do I get the low lights or not?

I always search google images trying to find a hair cut. The only problem with that is that I get the same results. Gorgeous women with beautiful, thick hair. I don't have thick hair. I have rather thin hair. Even when I specify that in the search I get the same results.

This time I'm thinking layers. Keeping as much length as I can while still getting rid of the frizzy ends. I do plan for my shortest layer to be a bit shorter than previous cuts. No bangs . . . or Very long bangs . . . not sure which.

If anyone has ANY ANY ANY ANY suggestions I would GLADLY have a look! PLEASE?!?! Help me! (Now is the time when I wish I had a hundred blog followers.)

My appointment is Friday at 12:30 pm.

Oh, and then there's the to low light or not to low light question . . . Decisions!

Random Tuesday Thoughts!

1. You know what we (the Kiddo and I) really like? Magic Washcloths. Those dollar washcloths that are all squished into a little square or an egg and expand when you put them in water. They're so fun, we just love them! They have all kind of fun character pictures.

2. I'm trying to figure out the best way to let my TKD instructor know that on St. Patrick's Day I will be skipping class to stay home and watch TV. Josh Gates and the Destination Truth team will be conducting thier first ever live investigation and they're doing it in Ireland!! I would have stayed home for live DT anyway but in IRELAND!? I'm So There!

3. I heard someone talking the other day about being backstage at a concert. The headliner wasWill Smith and another female pop star. According to this person talking people were directed Not To Look At this female pop star per her own request. Really? No, really? What, is she some sort of goddess or something?

4. When we go to Pennsylvania in April I'm going to have to create a budget JUST for coffee! They have Dunkin' Donuts AND Starbucks!!

4. You know what's awesome? AllRecipes.com's Menu Planner! It's only available to supporting members but it's way worth it. Especially if you plan your meals! Everytime you put a recipe in your menu Allrecipes adds the ingredients to a shopping list! Perfect!

5. I watch too much TV. Seriously, Toby TiVo is going to rebel one of these days. I watch too much TV and then I hear that awesome people are going to have new shows soon! No! I can't! I don't have time! (Ashley Judd, Kiefer Sutherland, Don Johnson, Michael Rosenbaum? Stop!)

6. WHY do couples share Facebook accounts? Are they afraid there aren't enough to go around? I have more than one Facebook friend who's name look like "JoeSally Smith" or "EvanandLiz Jones" Seriously?

7. Then there are the Facebook accounts that say "Shawna Macintyre" but Shawna's husband posts ALL the time saying "This is Chris, I just wanted to comment on this . . ." Get your own account, Chris!!!

An Excerpt From My Wardrobe - Socks Edition

Everyone has those silly things that make them smile. Not big things like new cars or houses or anything like that. The little, silly things.

You know what I love? Cute ankle socks. Seriously, I may be addicted. If I go somewhere and there are cute ankle socks on sale for a dollar? I almost can't not buy them.

Seriously? M&M socks? Gimme! Green St. Patty's socks? Want!
Yup! I'm Twenty-Something (I can still say that!) years old and I'm wearing M&M socks! But look how cute!

Silly post today? Sure, but I had to share my socks with you. :)

Sunday Silly - Fifty Bucks

Larry and Betty went to the State Fair every year and every year Betty would say, "Larry, I'd like to ride in that helicopter"

Larry always replied, "I know Betty, but that helicopter ride is fifty bucks and fifty bucks is fifty bucks."

One year Larry and Betty went to the fair, and Betty said, "Larry, I'm 65 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance."

To this, Larry replied, "Betty that helicopter ride is fifty bucks and fifty bucks is fifty bucks."

The pilot overheard the couple and said, "Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say a word I won't charge you a penny! But, if you say one word it's fifty dollars."

Larry and Betty agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, But still not a word.

 When they landed, the pilot turned to Betty and said, "By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!"

Betty replied, "Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Larry fell out, But you know . . .
"Fifty bucks is fifty bucks!

In my obvious excitement to participate in Six Word Saturday last week, I completely neglected to introduce it properly! I'm going to fix that right now.

Fun At The DMV - Part 2

After going through all the other stuff I finally took my road test yesterday.

As I sat at home watching the clock tick away the minutes before I had to leave for the test I began to freak out. I do that, freak out. I make things out to be HUGE deals in my head and work myself up pretty badly. I was sitting on the sofa attempting to breath deeply in an effort to calm myself . . . It wasn't working.

Finally it was time to leave. I prayed all the way to the car. I prayed all the way to the courthouse (which doubles as the DMV). I prayed while I was waiting my turn. I prayed when he (the ONE) got in the car and said "Back out and go that way."

You want to know what else The ONE said? "Make a left turn here. Right turn here. Go straight. Make a left turn here. Make another left at the light. Go straight through this light. Make a left here. Make a right here. Make another right. Make another right. Make a left at the light. Make a left and park right here" ("right here" would be back where I started.) "Good. You passed."

What? That's it? Don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled it was super easy and I passed. My problem comes when I think of all the 16 year olds driving around our town with only THAT as a test to determine whether or not they are qualified to drive!

Anyway, after I signed the paper The ONE sent me to the Tag Agency (Because why keep it simple and take care of it all in one place?) to get the actual license.

In Pennsylvania when I had my picture taken if I didn't like it they took another one. Not here, no. No, here I didn't even SEE the picture until she handed me the actual license.

HORROR!!!!!!

Does anyone watch The Big Bang Theory? Do you know who Amy Farrah Fowler is? I look like her in my photo . . . only high.

My drivers license photo could be Amy Farrah Fowler on drugs.

The good news? I'm a legally licensed driver again!

TKD Test

I mentioned in Tuesday's Random Tuesday Thoughts post that I had my TKD test for my yellow stripes Monday night. I know, I know, yellow stripes, big deal. Hey, I thought it was pretty cool!


TKD has six belt colors, White, Yellow, Green, Blue, Red and Black. Between after each belt there's a stripe. White belt with a yellow stripe, Yellow belt with a green stripe, Blue belt with a red stripe, etc., you get the picture.

Anyway, I now have a yellow stripe! It's nice to know that all those classes add up to something.

The test was administered by my instructor's Husband. He's not awful but he sure does enjoy talking. I asked him a question and regretted it almost immediately. A few minutes later I was really regretting it. Oh well, at least he gives you all the information.

I didn't have to do a lot, just a few kicks and a couple patterns. I had to to count to ten in Korean and answer a couple questions as well.

It is nice to be the higher rank in the class though! Cool!

What Just Happened?!

I would like to preface this post with a . . .

I was watching The Big Bang Theory episode that aired last Thursday and at the end Levar Burton showed up! He popped his head in the door for a few seconds and then left, walking down the stairs muttering about Twitter.

WELL . . . I innocently tweeted the following:

"I had an odd moment during Thursday's Big Bang Theory where I found @LevarBurton sorta hot! It was unexpected. #TBBT"

I'm about to come clean right here . . . I found him a Lot hot! He's in fantabulous shape!! Actually, I think this is the best he's ever looked. Especially considering I don't remember ever before thinking he was hot. I sorta said "sorta" because I sorta thought I might get picked on by some Twitter friends . . . By the end of the night I was wishing I just would have said what I thought. LOL

Back to the story. I tweeted that and then I shut it all down because I had to go grocery shopping. A couple hours later I returned home and turned on Twitter. I had EIGHTEEN mentions . . . And they were ALL about Levar Burton!!

I didn't know what was going on! My first thought was that someone had been doing some sort of "Levar Burton" search and Retweeted me and people responded. THEN I started going through my mentions . . . Someone Retweeted me alright! Levar Burton!

I thought maybe he was one of those people who Retweeted all kinds of stuff, all the time. So, I rushed over to his Twitter feed to check . . . Nope! Nope! Not at all! Last Retweet before that one was Sunday!

Now I was embarrassed and really wishing I just would have gone with:

 "So, I was watching Thursday's Big Bang Theory and there was @LevarBurton!! Oh my word! He's a lot hotter than I remember! Wow! #TBBT"

OR

"WOW! @LevarBurton on The Big Bang Theory! FREAKIN' HOT!!!!! #TBBT"

OK, maybe the first one! :)

Random Tuesday Thoughts!!

1. My last RTT was November 9th. So much for getting "back into this blogging thing." *Sigh*

2. I mentioned I'm taking Taekwondo now. (Which will from now on, when referenced, use the abbreviation TKD.) Last night was my first test. I was supposed to have that test twice before but life and weather got in the way. I finally had it last night. I am now officially a "Yellow Stripe." Whoo hooo, right? Hey, I think it's cool!

3. I've been told 18 months until I reach black belt status . . . That's a lot of months. Although, to be honest, that's a lot less months than I assumed it would take.

4. Driver's Test this week! Yes, I already know how to drive. Actually I've been driving for quite a few years now. This crazy town is just totally screwed up. (Full story: Here) I'm actually a little nervous. Not because I can't drive because I can. I'm nervous for that whole parallel parking thing. I don't do that. Ever. Last time I did it was, I'm pretty sure, for my original drivers test. That was well over 10 years ago. This should be interesting.

5. International Delight Almond Joy Coffee Creamer is one of my new favorite things. It's Awesome! Fantastic! Amazing! It's like drinking a candy bar!

6. I got an iPod for Christmas. I named it Rupert. Any further references to Rupert (Things like "Rupert and I are going to the gym." and "Rupert and I are going to bed.") will be referring to my iPod.

7. I really enjoy blogging. Why don't I do this more often?
